Steve Eglem

Head of clinical investigation and unmet medical needs units, Federal Agency of Medicines and Health Products

Steve Eglem holds a biomedical degree from the University of Mons which was completed by additional training in clinical and laboratory research.
He now has more than 14 years of experience in clinical research, first at the University Hospital St. Luc in Brussels as clinical research coordinator in oncology and now at the Belgian Competent Authority (Federal Agency of Medicines and Health Products)  as responsible of units dealing with clinical research on medical devices, including in vitro diagnostics, and responsible for unmet medical needs for drugs. He is also an active member of the Clinical Research and Evaluation Working Group at the European Commission, where he contributes to european guidance in the framework of clinical studies with medical devices.

With the cross view of companies leaders and other stakeholders, we will discuss the elements that are contributing or missing to further promote a Belgian MedTech Valley. We will also get some insights from abroad examples and inspiration from the pharma valley.

The open discussion with the panel members will lead to call for actions and provide food for thoughts to pave the way for an even brighter future.
